I've had this sitting around since last year and now that my sewing machine is feeling better about itself, I thought I'd try creating the straight stitch to do the whip stitch with like we do on the cross stitched biscornu. It came out PERFECTLY. The center is off slightly because when I initially sewed on the sequins and beads I didn't put that pattern on straight which didn't help with the first initial "finish". For the August IHSW 2013 I ripped it apart and sewed it back together and have to say it really is much, much nicer 
The finished piece is 8" x 8" or 20.32 cm
The original sequins and beaded work which I have to say was too much fun
The first finished piece that didn't come out right, sides crooked, bad stitching and all round no right
However! Even if it wasn't great, it was still fun to figure out.
