I thought I would share my method for keeping my graphs decent and being able to save my books and pamphlets from total destruction while working on something :D

woah thats a great idea, would also mean you can mark on it if you want with an erasable pen without muddying it further. I will have to try that, especially for my own designed patterns that tend to get really ratted up since i just do them on graph paper.

Thanks for sharing :)

You are totally welcome! I'm glad this idea has been working for so many :D

I never thought about the contact paper! I have at least been making copies of my charts and using those rather than the original charts for my cross-stitch projects for a while now.

Yes! That is what I was doing too so I wouldn't ruin my books or magazines, and then one day it occurred to me to laminate it with the contact paper since I kept spilling coffee on the paper :D It wipes off so easily and if you have kidlets running around with sticking hands THAT wipes off of the vinyl as well :D

I am so confused with this lamination film. This is the "cold lamination film" right?...the one where you don't need to use machine?...I'm planning on making a keychain out of drawing printed on paper and laminated, like this [link] ...will this kind of film work?

The laminate on that link you gave me is a hard laminate whereas the contact paper I use is a vinyl that is flexible. If you want your keychain to last longer I recommend the hard laminate :D

b-but! I would still work right?...well the thing is I have to mass produce the keyhain coz I intend to sell it to some con. I dun have a machine and neither a money for it so...nyoron~

Thanks for answering my question! I've talked to a lot of people (and supplier) but they would just ignore me...T_T

ha ha, well then go for it, it is washable with the vinyl and as I have said very flexible. I think with a paperhole punch you could easily make the holes for the rings for the keychains without ripping. The vinyl is pretty durable, but nothing like the hard laminate. Also it would be easier for you to cut around the picture so that you have the edges you need to keep the anime pics from being damaged :D

ahaha...yeah yeah that's what I inteded to do. Thanks so much! I'll try to buy the lamination sheet! I was skeptical to buy it since it's a whole pack and will cost me bigger amount than buying the hot one per piece. I also thought at first the the cold film is just like a coating or something.Really thank you for the help!!

this is a really great idea! i just took my last pattern and taped the pieces together with scotch tape... and now it's so worn on the folds that i have to improvise!!
